How to join the Aurora Barnstormers

Every member must have a current AMA card and a full AMA membership, Park Flyer membership does not qualify. Bring a completed application located at the bottom of this page, and your current AMA card along with $90.00 to the next meeting. Although the membership application and dues and AMA membership can be mailed to the address on the application, it is strongly suggested that a new member attend an in person meeting at least once. By attending a meeting you can be introduced to the membership, any member at the meeting can do that for you and ask to meet the club officers. Agree to follow the AMA rules and the Barnstormer rules posted at the field, learn what is allowed and what is not allowed at the field. After AMA verification new members receive a membership card and access to the gate. Understand that the Kane County Forest Preserve District provides our agreement the use of the field, and they demand the AMA card as proof of insurance. The meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at the Sugar Grove Public Library at 7:00 pm.

In June, July, and August, meetings are held at the field, on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00pm. Plan on attending meetings to get to know our membership, talk about the hobby and take part in club business. Members can also fly indoors during the winter months at a near by high school on designated weekends for a small fee. Special rules apply.

Due to COVID 19 restriction, please mail a completed application, and yearly dues check to the address listed on the application. Once received you will receive a combination for the lock at the gate via email. Please make sure your email is accurate and up to date on the application when sending it in.
