Welcome to pre February meeting news letter, we will have several interesting items to discuss at the February meeting and look forward to seeing all our members at the meeting. Just to remind you the meeting is at 7:00 pm the first Thursday of February, the 7th, at the Prisco Center in Aurora. Dues are now due and must be paid by March 6th; the gate lock will be changed just before the March meeting. If you come to the February meeting we will be passing out new keys and membership cards to those that pay their dues. After the meeting it will be up to the member to get the key from one of the board members, as in the past we will not be mailing keys to members. Members must show there current AMA Card at the time they pay their dues and get their new key. Each member must return the old key when he receives the new key. Many of our members went to either of the Hobby Town hobby shops to pay their dues and get a new key last year, there is NO guarantee that will continue, and you are advised to call ahead before you travel to the shop. Accepting dues and passing out keys is strictly voluntary on their part.
We have included a copy of our membership application with this month’s news letter which can be down loaded and printed. Please fill it and bring it to the next meeting or get it to board member with proof of AMA.
One item of discussion for this month’s meeting will be the Park Flyer membership program the AMA has started. There are several inherent problems and challenges with this new program, the Barnstormers must resolve these issues to the member’s satisfaction. Please read about the new program so we can make an informed decision on how to handle this new program.
We will install the new board members along with the trainers and safety officers, it is important for the membership to get to know all these folks so the membership can take full advantage of our club and if you need help you know who to contact.
I was told that Mr. Stovall was contacted by the North Aurora police and has now repaid ALL the people he owed money to approximately $6000.00. The important thing to remember is the internet is full of less then forthright sellers of model airplanes and supplies, be careful.
In up coming news letters I will be looking for member input, please let me know how I can make it more interesting.
SEE ALL AT THE FEBUARY 7TH MEETING
